The Bookhouse Library from TSHoTP

This post has been created to share the editions of the Bookhouse library books as photographed by the Archivist in The Secret History of Twin Peaks. It is a work in progress as I am unable to locate exact matches for some titles within one day. Online sellers do not often include photos of book spines.

1. Fear and Loathing on the Campaign Trail '72, Hunter S. Thompson

Deputy Hawk's choice is unfortunately one of the titles that proves difficult to find. The cover below seems to be a match, but the text on its spine is placed differently. A white cover is also available, but the book does not appear to be white in the photo from The Secret History of Twin Peaks.

2. The World According to Garp, John Irving

Andy's book appears to be a 1978 hardback edition of the novel.

3. Charlotte's Web, E.B. White

James' selection seems to be a 1952 first edition hardback of the classic novel.

4. The Stand, Stephen King

Lucy's novel on the Bookhouse shelf appears to be the 1978 book club edition.

5. To Kill a Mockingbird, Harper Lee

Sheriff Truman's preference seems to be the 50th anniversary edition of the novel.

6. Zen and The Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, Robert M. Pirsig

Big Ed's choice is the second title I am unable to locate. The book has been been reprinted many times since its initial release in 1974. Those with the same font are available in many colors. However, none I've seen have the same "Bantam New Age Books" logo of two figures holding hands.

7. Angle of Repose, Wallace Stegner

Frank Truman's copy seems to be a 1971 first edition.

8. The Warren Commission Report, The Official Report of the President's Commission on the Assassination of President John F. Kennedy

Cooper's book appears to be the 1993 edition.

9. The Boys of Summer, Roger Kahn

Cappy's choice appears to be the 2006 edition. The publisher is Harper Perennial Modern Classics, which can be read at the base of the book.

10. Sketchbook Nov. 1974 to Jan 1978, R. Crumb

Toad's choice looks to be a second edition copy.

11. Double Indemnity, James M. Cain

Hank's book is another edition that remains unidentified. The spine of the copy in the library is similar to the most commonly found edition from 1943, but it seems to be a solid color, unlike the book below. Both books were published by Avon.
