A Brooch Worn By Jerry Horne

In episode five (1.005, Cooper's Dreams), Jerry Horne wears a pair of distinctive silver brooches as he attends a party thrown in honor of Twin Peaks' Icelandic visitors. The brooch at his collar depicts Cupid. Beneath Cupid is another brooch silver in tone and comprised of a group of figures.

A brooch of the same make recently came into my possession. The brooch is manufactured by the JJ company and is signed, JJ 1988.  JJ stands for Jonette Jewelry. The official name of the brooch, if it has one, is unknown to me. The eBay and Etsy sellers listing the brooch were varied with their titles, including, Crowd, Dancing Men, Faceless People, and Immigration.

The JJ company made countless pieces of costume jewelry from the 1940s through 2006.

Run by Abraham Lisker, the company “Jonette Jewelry” started it's activities in 1935 under the name “Providence Jewelry Company.” However, in 1937, when Nathan Lisker joined his brother’s business, the company got the name “Lisker & Lisker”. But seven years later, after World War II, the two brothers decided to rename the company, they just combined the names of their parents, John and Etta. Thus, in the state of Rhode Island, appeared “Jonette Jewelry Co”, established in 1944. Since 1970, the company became known as JJ, and each piece was marked “copyright JJ”. Meanwhile, their first success were ballerina pins, brooches and figurines, decorated with mother of pearl.
