The Carpet and Claws

In season two, episode one (2.001,  May the Giant Be With You ), Maddy Ferguson has a vision in the Palmer living room. The carpet near her chair rapidly becomes darkened by a stain or an effect called pooling, or sometimes watermarking, which happens when fibers are moved in an opposing direction. The reason I question if it is a stain is that claw marks seem to appear after the darkness has spread.  Notice the marks intentionally raked across the carpet (Below).

Sid's Coat

Sid Twin Peaks, Twin Peaks Sid

Judge Sternwood's law clerk Sid wears a bold sarape Aztec blanket coat in episode 11 (2.004, Laura's Secret Diary).

The coat may be from Ralph Lauren's Polo Country line. I found two images of the coat online with patterns in areas similar to Sid's version. 


The pattern varies from coat to coat due to the unique cut of each piece.



Ralph Lauren's line Polo Country line was launched in 1988, making the coat fairly new when it appeared in the series.
