Dale's Simultaneous Speech

In season one, episode sixteen (2.009, Arbitrary Love), Cooper, Harry, and Albert stay with Leland Palmer during his final moments. Agent Cooper attempts to comfort the dying man as he shares the story of how BOB came to him when he was a young boy, entering him and eventually making him murder his daughter.

I noticed that as Cooper takes hold of Leland, resting the other man's head against him, Cooper's lips and jaw move as if he is speaking. He almost appears to speak simultaneously with Leland.

Cooper is not described as praying or whispering words of comfort in the script, though that may be what he is doing. One thought that crossed my mind is that Kyle MacLachlan may have been helping Ray Wise with lines, but I don't put any faith behind that thought. Attempting to read Kyle's lips, the words do not always seem to match with Leland's dialogue. Another thought that came to mind is the scene where Dale recites the Fire, Walk With Me poem in perfect sync with Mike/Gerard.
