The Carpet and Claws

In season two, episode one (2.001,  May the Giant Be With You ), Maddy Ferguson has a vision in the Palmer living room. The carpet near her chair rapidly becomes darkened by a stain or an effect called pooling, or sometimes watermarking, which happens when fibers are moved in an opposing direction. The reason I question if it is a stain is that claw marks seem to appear after the darkness has spread.  Notice the marks intentionally raked across the carpet (Below).

Two of Jean Renault's Jackets

When Jacques Renault makes his first appearance in the series (episode 10, The Man Behind Glass, 2.003) he is wearing a tan western themed jacket with brown accents. It is a bold and distinctive look reminiscent of the past and befitting a man like Jean.

The corduroy and leather jacket may have been manufactured by the Pioneer Wear company. I have studied his jacket frame-by-frame, but sadly cannot tell if his jacket has more than one front closure button.

The corduroy of his jacket is visible in the close-shot above. Look at his shoulder.

The back of his jacket. It has the same five triangles and leather accents.

The Pioneer Wear jacket seems to fit Jean's personality. It's distinguished and formidable.

The gray and tan western jacket worn in episodes 11, 12, and 20 (Laura's Secret Diary, The Orchid's Curse, Checkmate. 2.004, 2.005, 2.013). This is the only jacket he wears more than once.

I believe this jacket was made by Pendleton. There are several variations of this jacket. The listing below was found after searching for a few months. It has the same three buttons at the wrist and large front pockets. The jacket sometimes appears beige and other times gray in the series. Interestingly, the eBay listing photographs as both.

Note the elbow patches and the vent.

The tweed of his suit is visible in this shot.
